2018 Parallel

After more than a decade, we are so excited to present another vintage of our Parallel! A blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Malbec, the last Parallel was first crafted in 2010, and is one of our most coveted library bottles. One of our lesser known custom red blends, this originated when Susan, still helming the winery after David’s passing, wanted to continue to create interesting red blends that would showcase Oregon’s climate – and to create wines that David himself would have liked. Susan had never heard of a blend of Merlot and Malbec, but thought that the combination could be delicious – the softness of the Merlot taming some of the intensity of the Malbec, which would help provide structure to the wine.
