2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

While we purchase many of our more robust varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon specifically for one of our legacy red blends such as our David’s Tableau Vivant, some vintages produce outstanding barrels that inspire the Teppola family to craft a single varietal bottling, such as this 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is an old soul trapped in a bottle. While it may be relatively young by the traditional aging standards for some Cabernet Sauvignon, that is the only thing that could be considered young about this wine. Aged for over 26 months in barrel, this Cabernet displays a refinement far beyond its years. A rich bouquet with notes of bittersweet chocolate, and slight minerality greets you. Soft tannins are accompanied by juicy notes of dark fruit – blackberry and black berry in particular come to mind! A unique but refined, elegant note of Crème de Cassis ties the flavors together in a marvelous harmony.
