With the replanting of our Estate in 2015 came 6 acres of Estate Pinot Gris. Every year as the vines mature we see more complexity in the wine in addition to these wines reflecting each growing season. We believe the Willamette Valley is an incredible place to grow Pinot Gris. Specifically on our Yamhill-Carlton Estate, our soil, Willakenzie Loam, is an ancient marine sedimentary soil that leads to a richness in the fruit, and has a delightful impact on the resulting minerality that almost seems to carry the faintest trace of saltwater from millions of years ago. As with our Rosé of Pinot Noir and Estate Chardonnay, we love to compare different vintages of our white wines, as the influence weather has in the end result of wine is so evident.
